AURORA RESEARCH PROGRAM

Aurora Research Program: Clinical and basic research on psycho-physiological effects, anxiety reduction, and occupational well-being through the application of Aurora1618 protocols.

SCIENTIFIC VALIDATION & CLINICAL STUDIES

A multidisciplinary research program evaluating the psycho-physiological effects of Aurora Musical Temperament. Conducted in collaboration with Campus Ludes (Lugano), the program integrates objective metrics (HRV, Conductance) with subjective well-being assessments.

COMPLETED RESEARCH

Impact on Professional Pianists

PERFORMANCE & PSYCHOPHYSIOLOGY
Study comparing Aurora Temperament vs. Traditional in professional pianists.
Key Findings:
  • Enhanced Emotional State: Aurora Temperament favored a significantly higher positive emotional profile, eliciting deep feelings of joy, wonder, and amusement.
  • Intrinsic Reward: Musicians reported a higher sense of intrinsic reward and creative engagement during performance.
  • Deep Connection: Participants described a "profound connection" and feelings of surprise and discovery.

Impact on Listeners

LISTENING EXPERIENCE
Study on the listening experience of identical pieces (Aurora vs. Traditional) in blind conditions.
Key Findings:
  • Higher Engagement: Aurora elicited a stronger physiological activation and more intense specific emotions, indicating deep immersion.
  • Focus & Calm: Participants reported a unique sense of concentration ("listening to something new") and profound feelings of calm and tranquility.
  • Emotional Depth: The experience broke standard habituation patterns, generating a "distinctive emotional journey."

ONGOING STUDIES

Study 1: Psycho-Physiological Resonance

BASIC RESEARCH // CAMPUS LUDES

Objective: Comparative analysis of Aurora Temperament vs. Traditional (440Hz) tuning on stress markers.
Metrics: Heart Rate Variability (HRV), Skin Conductance, Subjective Well-being.
Location: Campus Ludes, Lugano.

Study 2: Therapeutic Harmonies

CLINICAL SETTING // DENTAL ANXIETY

Objective: Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) evaluating Aurora music for reducing procedural anxiety.
Protocol: Aurora Music vs. Treatment As Usual (TAU) during dental procedures (n=120).
Partner: Studio Dentistico Abbattista, Milano.

Study 3: Harmonies in the Kitchen

OCCUPATIONAL WELL-BEING // HIGH STRESS

Objective: Longitudinal study on stress reduction in starred restaurant kitchens.
Method: Cross-over design monitoring team cohesion, cortisol levels, and performance.
Context: High-intensity professional environments (Lombardy/Ticino).

EDUCATIONAL FRONTIER

Aurora for Children

EDUCATING SOUND CULTURE // FAMILOSOPHY

Proposal: "Listening as a facilitator of well-being in daily education."
Concept: Creating an Educating Sound Environment where the Aurora Temperament supports emotional regulation and relational connection.
Application:
  • Sound Landscapes: Dedicated sonic environments for daily transitions (welcome, meal, nap, play).
  • Methodology: Sound mapping, specific operational compositions, and staff training on sound ecology.
  • Goal: To foster calm, concentration, and harmony, establishing Familosophy as a permanent lab for educational sound ecology.
